I like driving and so when I heard about an open position in Tesco in Grocery Home Shopping, delivering customers’ groceries to their homes, it sounded like something that I would like; being out on the road and meeting different people all the time.

Every delivery is different as you get to meet all sorts of people in varied locations. What I really love is the way you meet people from all walks of life and you get an insight into different people’s lives. It’s my ambition to always treat every single customer the same and I always try to go out of my way for customers.

I joined Tesco a year and a half ago and it was the first time I’ve ever had a permanent contract. That might not mean a lot to some people but it means a lot to me, as I’ve never been happier. My whole life has changed. I was always in temporary roles but knowing that I have the security in this job has made my home life more balanced and relaxed. This has made a big difference to my family.

We had a lot of training at the beginning. It was three weeks at the start and then we have top-up training every three months. I like the people here and look forward to coming to work. Everyone is friendly. I’m always walking around the place singing. As soon as I came in the door I felt like I fitted in.

The benefits are good as there’s a Colleague Clubcard with 10% off anything in-store. The hours are good as I’m guaranteed 35 hours per week. There’s a subsidised canteen and they always put on a good meal.

Outside of work, I play football and I show English Bull Dogs; I love dogs and it’s something that’s a bit different.
