“I love the variety and fast pace of my job, no two days are the same. I could be working with a buyer, meeting suppliers, and getting insight to understand how a category is performing, or reviewing a floor plan for a new store. There is a lot of cross-functional work, which gives me the opportunity to see all sides of the business and to interact with a lot of different teams. Most of all, my passion is delivering ranges into our stores that make a difference to the customer,”
Suzanne Boyle, Customer Range and Space Manager.
The Customer Team is at the heart of our commercial function. Working on Trade and Range, they liaise closely with our Buying teams to showcase our amazing products to customers through exciting promotions and events.
The team decides the mix of space we allocate to product groups in our stores based on business strategy, customer demographic, locations and shopping mission. Working alongside our buying teams, they build the best product displays which are easy to shop for customers, but also operationally efficient for colleagues.
To have a successful career in this area, it’s really important to truly understand our customers and what offers and events most appeal to them. This is really important in enabling us to serve our customers a little better every day.
Taking all of your customer knowledge and working collaboratively across the business with our buyers and suppliers – you will be generating compelling category strategies and trade plans for the year. We always look for different ways to surprise and delight our customers, so it’s important to constantly be looking for opportunities to make these plans even better than the previous year.
Working in the Customer Team gives you the exciting opportunity to work across all of the different store formats, so you will really get to know Tesco and see the difference that your role makes to customers every day!
