About the role

Tesco Ireland is currently seeking to recruit an In-house Pensions Co-Ordinator To support our Pensions Manager in the delivery of high-quality administration, operational and governance in Tesco Ireland. This role will provide a valuable contribution on colleague engagement to Tesco Ireland’s Pension Schemes and ensuring an effective and accurate administration underpin to support this. This role will make a valuable difference within our fast-paced business and provide a high quality and fully compliant standard of service. Our Pension Team sits as part of the Reward and Benefits area in the People Function.

You will be responsible for

  • Work with the Pensions Manager to provide support to the administration of our pension and life assurance arrangements
  • Co-ordinating the day-to-day administration of the DB, DC and Life Assurance Plans including working with payroll, external providers and Tesco’s shared services centre in Bengaluru
  • Establish strong relationships with internal stakeholders, our offshore team and suppliers
  • Liaise with our offshore colleagues to ensure that they are processing any tasks assigned to them as per the agreed timelines
  • Assisting with preparation and review of benefit calculations
  • Supporting retirement, transfer and death claims processes across various plans
  • Assisting with any complex member queries and answering technical questions
  • Supporting the delivery of a variety of annual projects including the annual renewal of Pension and Risk benefits and any necessary interaction with the relevant life companies
  • Assisting with planning and implementing continuous improvement in our processes and procedures
  • Working with the Pensions Manager on governance activities, including preparing meeting packs, recording minutes of meetings and monitoring management information
  • Positive and proactive participation within the wider Reward and Benefits team maximising opportunities to actively promote pension as part of our benefit offering
  • Interacting with our providers, monitoring service provision and highlighting any areas for focus in a pro-active and collaborate manner
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within and outside own function and develop and actively maintain a positive relationship across the Tesco business in Ireland
  • Adheres to all Tesco policies and guidance
  • Follows our Business Code of Conduct and always act with integrity and due diligence

You will need

  • To be a well organised, good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build strong relationships and deliver to a high-quality standard
  • Strong technical skills and understanding of how pension and life assurance schemes operate
  • Strong communication skills - written and verbal
  • Striving for continuous improvement, finding better ways of doing things
  • Dedication to putting customers and colleagues at the heart of everything you do
  • Innovation and pragmatism, examples of creative solutions that really work
  • Pensions administration experience - preferably both DB and DC experience, including working with administration systems
  • Knowledge of Pension Regulation and Revenue requirements
  • Numerate, analytical and ability to understand complex issues / legislation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
