Assistant Buyer (Maternity Leave Cover)

Tesco Ireland are currently seeking to appoint an Assistant Buyer (Maternity Leave Cover) in our Commercial team. The role will be to create profitable customer driven ranges and promotions to deliver sales and margin targets. You will develop a buying plan that supports the delivery of the customer plan and promises of ‘I can get what I want’ and ‘the prices are good’. You will resolve day to day issues with suppliers, distribution and the ordering department.

• Support the development of product ranges and the supply base
• Trade a range within a buying area
• Manage supplier relationships
• Resolve/escalate supplier issues
• Negotiate, with the support of your manager, to achieve ‘buy for less’ and ‘sell for less’ plans
• Develop and actively maintain a positive relationship across the business in Ireland
• Adhere to all Tesco policies and guidance, including storage protocols and successfully completing all Commercial Income and Grocery Regulations training so that you have zero Grocery Regulations breaches
• Ensure all agreements are accurate and recorded in writing in line with Commercial processes, and reporting Grocery Regulations complaints to Legal within 48hours of receipt
• Follow our Business Code of Conduct and always act with integrity and due diligence

• A keen interest in becoming a buying manager
• IT Skills preferable
• Experience advantageous but not necessary
• A 2.2 minimum in your 3rd Level Degree
