Technical Manager (Maternity Leave Cover)

Tesco Ireland are currently seeking to appoint a Technical Manager.The role will be to manage the technical process for a category by ensuring that products, services and information consistently deliver to meet customer expectations.

• Prior to launching you will put all your products ( where applicable ) through NPD / Customer Quality Test Ensuring all your products meet Tesco Pillar Brand Guidelines and Tesco Policy requirements 
• Regularly review the quality of my products against Product Specifications and Competitor products to ensure they continually meet the Quality Policy
• Reviewing customer complaints and returns data for your products, complete trend analysis and where required, implement product improvements or take action to remove defective products from sale
• Keeping abreast of market trends around my products and actively drive change and influence policy to meet these new customer needs
• Ensuring all new supplier sites are Approval Audited against Tesco Standards and Non Conformances are Closed Off
• Risk assessing all new products to ensure that they are safe and legal
• Ensuring that all your suppliers are supplied with the Tesco Ethical Trading Policy, they are registered on Sedex , have completed the risk assessment and any ethical audits required are completed and closed off
• Having a Product Specification for all your products
• Ensuring there is a Product Specification for all your Category products that delivers scale or crop utilisation to the benefit of the Group
• Following up all Supplier Technical Audits and ensure Non Conformances are closed off, liaising with sourcing hubs where applicable
• Managing product testing requirements and follow testing failures
• Keep Supplier and Product technical files and use the supplied IT systems for technical management
• Ensuring that the packaging for your products is the minimum required to protect the product safety and I proactively manage suppliers to reduce product packaging 
• Supporting your Buyers in the implementation of the Branded Policy
• Providing product expertise and support product and issue working groups and Category technical plans
• Managing third party contracts within agreed costs
• Using cross category knowledge and analysis to identify where cost savings can be made through economies of scale
• Providing insight into costs of new and existing processes to ensure Tesco gets value for money

• 2- 3 years technical and auditing experience essential 
• IT Skills
• Food Science or similar 3rd level degree
