Stores & Distribution Colleagues

Customer Assistant Driver

We are looking for people who will be helpful and friendly for our customers in everything they do.

As a driver, you’ll get the opportunity to meet and talk to different customers every day. There’s more to the job than being a good driver. You’ll need to maintain the vans and ensure they are roadworthy before you go out on the road, while also ensuing they are refuelled and clean at all times. And, like all Tesco Drivers, you’ll be a champion for road safety and an ambassador for great customer service.

This is a hands-on job, with plenty of responsibility. You’ll be out on the road but also working closely with colleagues and representing Tesco with everyone you meet. You’ll spend your time on a variety of activities, depending on your role.

There are some practical things to think about when applying to become a Tesco Driver.

You’ll need:

- a full IRISH/UK or EU driving licence for at least 2 years with no more than 3 penalty points

- proof of current penalty points on your licence at Assessment Stage. This can be requested from the National Driver Licence Services (NDLS) on 1890 41 61 41. We are sorry but if you have been disqualified from driving within the last 10 years, we will not be able to accept your application

Grocery Home Shopping

Tesco was Ireland’s first food retailer to offer online grocery shopping to our customers. We strive to make sure that the website and app give our customers the best user experience: simple, stress-free, quick and easy shopping.

We offer all kinds of great benefits, from our colleague discount, to saving money on everyday costs and treats. There's lots to be gained by being part of the Tesco team.

Since we introduced our Tesco values over 10 years ago, they have become a key part of our culture, growth and success. They influence how we work together and make sure that customers are at the centre of what we do. Our three values guide how we make brilliant little differences for customers, colleagues and communities.

  • No one tries harder for customers
  • We treat everyone how they want to be treated
  • Every little help makes a big difference

All of this makes for a culture where you'll feel respected, trusted and empowered to do your best for our customers. In return, you can count on your hard work to be recognised and rewarded. And you'll have the freedom and support to develop your career in a way that best suits you.

Equality, diversity and inclusion are really important to us at Tesco. We aim to build great teams that reflect our local communities, so we can provide the best possible service to our customers. And that means recruiting people from the widest possible talent pool. Put simply, everyone is welcome at Tesco.

In a business full of varied opportunities, you'll have everything you need to create a career path that meets your own personal goals and aspirations.
