PR Manager

Tesco Ireland are currently seeking to appoint a PR Manager.  This is a wide-reaching role providing advice on Corporate and Consumer PR and external communications.

You will plan, develop and implement corporate and consumer PR strategies and communications campaigns to support Tesco Ireland’s commercial and reputational objectives.

You will bring Tesco's corporate story to life, ensuring it reflects our core purpose, values, strategic priorities and customer proposition, to help build trust in the brand.

You will be accountable for:

• Working cross functionally with in-house teams to develop integrated PR campaigns aligned to business objectives
• Seeking out opportunities to communicate Tesco’s story by developing a corporate and consumer narrative and key messages
• Supporting crisis communications and issues management including reputation issues, product recalls, social media escalations etc.
• Working alongside the Consumer PR manager, share the management of the press office and act as a spokesperson for media inquiries and briefings
• Supporting the leadership team and category directors on external speaking engagements
• Supporting the approval process for external activity and materials, including speeches, awards and case studies, using judgement to consider what will help us to build trust in Tesco, and mitigating reputational risks
• Maintaining networks of media contacts and build on-going relationships with key influencers in news, business, sustainability, and social media
• Devising and implementing creative ways of driving media coverage on sustainability initiatives including climate change and corporate citizenship programmes
• Acting as the “eyes and ears” of the company to proactively track issues that might affect Tesco’s reputation in Ireland, with an eye on the horizon to future trends and opportunities
• Analysis, measurement, and evaluation of the results of PR programmes
• The co-management of the corporate PR agency

For the ‘PR Manager’ role you will have a demonstrated track record of:

• Developing and delivering major PR programmes and delivering high profile and sustained media coverage
• Establishing relationships with national and regional print, broadcast, and social media
• Demonstrating an understanding of corporate communications, commercial/marketing/CSR/ communications processes
• Working effectively with minimum supervision while remaining focused on key deliverables against deadlines
• Demonstrating media crisis management experience
