You’ll work together with our Irish and Group Finance colleagues to create financial plans for the Irish business. Day to day, you’ll track how we’re doing against these plans and prepare information that helps the UK leadership team to understand and run the business. With a great view of the whole business, your findings will affect important business decisions. By being in the middle of everything, you’ll make lasting connections with all other financial areas and often speak with our leadership.

Our role in Commercial Finance is to make smart business choices that protect and grow Tesco’s profitability. To do this well, you’ll need to show entrepreneurial flair, understand how commercial finance works, adopt a hands-on approach and take charge of business results. You’ll be part of a highly independent team and be seen as a ‘go-to’ finance person within the business. The jobs will be broad and challenging, but very rewarding. The key to success here is finding the right balance between being a business partner and a financial controller.

As one global team, we deliver innovative and cost effective solutions to manage the group’s insurable risks and to protect business growth and enhance our reputation.  Responsibilities of our team include ‘Managing Our Risk’ by making Tesco a safe place to shop and work and to enhance our reputation, ‘Financing Our Risks’ effectively to protect our P&L and meet the business’ needs on cost, risk and cover, promoting best practice by applying leading governance using effective policies and processes and creating effective processes to reduce the cost of claims and maximise recoveries.
