Corporate Affairs

“How our customers and indeed the wider public consume news and brand communications is ever-changing. Our customers want to know exactly what Tesco stands for, how we operate, how we support suppliers, and how we have a positive impact within the communities we operate. We aim to tell the story of the impact of our business to our colleagues and customers in new, compelling, and relevant ways. To show that, while we create value for customers, colleagues and shareholders, we also create value for society as a whole.”

Orla Molloy, PR Manager.

As part of this team you will support teams across the business to create highly engaging, interactive, and high-quality communications strategies and content to bring campaigns to life through videos, tweets, blogs, or photography.

Stakeholder management is crucial to how we connect and communicate with our key stakeholders who can be customers, colleagues, government representatives, charities, and communities. Our press office is often called upon when unexpected events happen. At these times, you will be at the forefront of Tesco’s response and key to ensuring we are doing the right thing, while continuing to build trust amongst stakeholders.

Giving back to the communities we serve is important to us. We’re proud of our key community initiatives: our surplus food donations programme, our Tesco Community Fund, and our Charity Partnership. Launched in July 2014, the Tesco Community Fund supports local good causes in the communities around each of our 149 stores throughout Ireland. Every eight weeks, each Tesco store donates up to €1,000 (€500 in smaller stores) between three local good causes in its community.

Tesco Ireland and FoodCloud launched a ground-breaking partnership in July 2014 that sees all surplus food from Tesco's 149 stores redistributed to charities and community groups through the use of FoodCloud's innovative app.

The Tesco Ireland Charity Partner Programme gives our colleagues and customers the chance to pool their strengths and support a cause that is close to their hearts. Since 2014, following a colleague vote, we have worked with Temple Street Children’s University Hospital. Through the hard work of our colleagues across stores, head office, and our distribution centre we have raised vital funds for the little heroes who attend the busiest A&E department in Europe.
