About the role

Tesco Ireland is seeking to appoint a Procurement Manager who will be responsible for the delivery of strategic development, planning and sourcing for assigned sub-categories, that drives value for money and efficiencies throughout the procurement lifecycle. This requires liaising with partner suppliers and stakeholders. 

You will be responsible for

  • Continuing to develop strong working relationships with stakeholders to support, endorse and deliver sub category plans aligned to category procurement strategies to business savings and support innovation.
  • Build and deliver sub category plans aligned to Category Plans by being innovative and collaborative with various cross functional stakeholders.
  • Actively minimize revenue and capital costs through improved use of tools, processes and application of best practice. This will be achieved through a combination of influencing stakeholders and robust planning.
  • Consistently track and report on savings targets for specified sub-categories using the agreed process.
  • Using sound judgement build new and develop existing supplier relationships to ensure continued suitability and create greater value across the organization.
  • Support the business to achieving compliance with legal, ethical and safety procurement policies with integrity and good judgment.
  • Develop and lead a high performing team enabling them to reach their potential to deliver a world class procurement function.
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues within and outside own function and develop and actively maintain a positive relationship across the Tesco business in Ireland.
  • Adhere to all Tesco policies and guidance.
  • Follow our Business Code of Conduct and always act with integrity and due diligence.

You will need

  • Procurement management experience
  • Cross functional working and stakeholder engagement
  • 3-5 years’ experience in similar role
  • Proven history of cost savings and value add projects
  • CIPS qualified at level 4 (diploma) or working towards
  • Retail or construction knowledge would be an advantage
  • Negotiation skills
  • Supplier relationship and performance management experience
  • Category Planning
  • Familiar with MS Office
  • Contract management experience
