Assistant Buyer

Tesco Ireland are currently seeking to appoint an Assistant Buyer in our Commercial team on a full time permanent basis. The role will be to create profitable customer driven ranges and promotions to deliver sales and margin targets. You will develop a buying plan that supports the delivery of the customer plan and promises of ‘I can get what I want’ and ‘the prices are good’. You will resolve day to day issues with suppliers, distribution and the ordering department.

• Support the development of product ranges and the supply base
• Trade a range within a buying area
• Manage supplier relationships
• Resolve/escalate supplier issues
• Negotiate, with the support of your manager, to achieve ‘buy for less’ and ‘sell for less’ plans
• Develop and actively maintain a positive relationship across the business in Ireland
• Adhere to all Tesco policies and guidance, including storage protocols and successfully completing all Commercial Income and Grocery Regulations training so that you have zero Grocery Regulations breaches
• Ensure all agreements are accurate and recorded in writing in line with Commercial processes, and reporting Grocery Regulations complaints to Legal within 48hours of receipt
• Follow our Business Code of Conduct and always act with integrity and due diligence

• A keen interest in becoming a buying manager
• IT Skills preferable
• Experience advantageous but not necessary
• A 2.2 minimum in your 3rd Level Degree
