About the role

Tesco Ireland is seeking to recruit a Technology Business Partner as part of our Information Technology Team. This role will partner with ROI business stakeholders and Group Technology to translate business needs to the technology plan. This role will support the strategic business projects with strong digital differentiation. By building strong relationships this role will draw on the group technology platform to support the ROI business.

You will be responsible for

Developing the annual Tech plans and longer-term strategic planning:

  • Be aware of upcoming developments in Group Technology through building strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Partner with ROI Stakeholders on initiatives which need support from and work with Group Technology to agree an annual plan and LTP and communicate update to key stakeholders
  • Prepare presentations for communication with Group Technology and ROI Stakeholders on plans.

 

Provide a dynamic plan with clear deliverables and timelines:

  • Partnering with ROI Stakeholders and Group Technology create and track a project level plan to deliver the programme goals, ensuring colleagues and stakeholders from across the business are kept up to date.
  • Track Programme & Project Progress KPIS including dependencies, risks, issues and decisions needed
  • Manage stakeholder’s communication and engagement and manage escalations.
  • Attend relevant Governance meetings.

 

Providing input to Group Technology as required:

  • Attend and prepare for the Quarterly Tech Portfolio review.
  • Provide local data and information as requested from Group Technology.

 

Supporting Finance Processes in respect of the Programme:

  • Provide input into the annual Capital plan.
  • Update that Plan on an ongoing basis and ensure that the plan is on track by meeting KPIS
  • Update Business cases for Investment Committee where required.

 

Deputising for the Head of IT when required:

  • Attend senior Stakeholder meetings when and as required.
  • Keep key stakeholders across the business (Group & ROI) updated on service incidents etc via Tech Director check in – etc.

Being the Business Partner between ROI Technology and Group Technology: 

  • Ensure that ROI Technology Colleagues are updated on Projects which are related to their areas of responsibility and are on track with their deliverables.

Helping in delivering the change:

  • Understand and communicate the impact of Technology initiatives to Business stakeholders.
  • Work with those Business stakeholders to deliver the change by providing input to communications plans and messages for key initiatives.

You will need

  • Technology programme management experience.
  • Awareness of different technology disciplines, environments and methodologies.
  • Responsive to fast changing environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to build solid working relationships with peers and senior leadership in the ROI Business and Group Technology.
  • The ability to work as part of a broad team located across different geographies and organisations.
  • To be able to see the “Big picture” whilst knowing the detail to identify what is important in delivering the Programme.
  • Flexibility, ability to plan and organise, responsiveness, creativity, self-starter.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills to all levels of seniority and disciplines within the organisation.
