About the role

Contract: Full-Time

Tesco Ireland is currently seeking to appoint a PR Manager.  This is a wide-reaching role providing advice on Corporate and Consumer PR and external communications. You will plan, develop and implement corporate and consumer PR strategies and communications campaigns to support Tesco Ireland’s commercial and reputational objectives.

You will be responsible for

  • Working cross functionally with in-house teams to develop integrated consumer PR campaigns aligned to business objectives
  • Seeking out opportunities to communicate Tesco’s story by developing a corporate and consumer narrative and key messages
  • Supporting crisis communications and issues management including product recalls
  • Supporting the leadership team and category directors on external speaking engagements
  • Devising and implementing creative ways of driving media coverage around CSR initiatives including charity partnerships and community-led programmes
  • Maintaining networks of media contacts and build on-going relationships with key influencers in news, lifestyle and social media
  • Supporting the management of the press office and act as a spokesperson for media queries and briefings
  • Supporting and executing social media initiatives and ensure integration to drive maximum engagement
  • Devising and implementing creative ways of driving media coverage
  • Acting as the “eyes and ears” of the company to proactively track issues that might affect Tesco’s reputation in Ireland
  • Evaluating and analyse results of PR programmes
  • Assisting in the management of the consumer PR agency

You will need

For the ‘PR Manager” role you will have a demonstrated track record of:

  • Developing and delivering major corporate and consumer PR programmes and delivering high profile and sustained media coverage
  • Establishing relationships with national and regional media and social influencers
  • Demonstrating an understanding of Commercial/Marketing/Communications processes
  • Working effectively with minimum supervision while remaining focused on key deliverables against deadlines
  • Demonstrating media crisis management experience
